Joy riding with an Osprey in Daytona Beach on the Sling Shot ride. He flies in when the ride closes and stays all night until it opens again. In the morning we find him hunting right from the top of the ride seat case. The guy who runs the ride reports that he often finds fish parts all over the cover they have to use to keep the seat clean for humans wanting a thrill ride.

Bald Eagle Pair
Via Flickr:
Bald Headed Eagle pair in their nest in lower Central Florida. It’s the time of year when the BHEs get together in rather large nests to start the annual propagation dance. Even though far off, we caught these two prepping the nest making ready to settle down for a few months to duplicate themselves. Although nature is somewhat predictable it’s still amazing when you stop for a few minutes and enjoy watching nature take it’s course. These majestic birds are awesome!
This nest is on the north side of Florida 70 – west of 27 (see geotag on Flickr) just west of Lake Placid, Florida. About half a mile north is a rather large lake, Lake Placid, where we expect to see more nests as we explore further. The nest is on private property and is posted as a protected site so closer inspection is not suggested without permission.

Rat Watching The Mail
Via Flickr:
Florida has some really interesting "Mailbox Artwork". In our exploration of the Florida expanse we sometimes find some of the most creative mailbox arteork and stands. This chubby mouse was found holding the mailbox in western Palm Baech county on an out of the way country road while taking some bird photos. I guess people in the country are either creatively board or just need a really cool way to dispose of junk. This is such a creative way to get rid of an old LP gas canister in plain sight.

Stairway to heaven.
Stairway to heaven was a photograph taken on a trip to St. Augustine a while back. My wife,Jo, and I were climbing the stairs of the old lighthouse when this image jumped out and demanded to be captured.
This final image is a pencil drawing rendered from the photo using a process called Dynamic Auto Paint from Mediachance. Mediachance has been writing great photo and video programs for over a decade and I use one or more of them daily.
Stairway to heaven rendered to a 16 megapixel paper textured master and looks great as an 11 x 17 print. Pictures taken, rendered to an artistic medium then printed are awesome. Somewhere along the line we’re losing our love for the real printed art medium. I suggest every photographer occasionally print your work to some medium that can be viewed on something other than a glowing screen.
This rendition is a view of the Pont Verde Lighthouse just south of Daytona Beach. This is the tallest lighthouse on the east coast and is a very nice walk to the top. The view is breathtaking and is always full of people.
