The last place you would expect to find a roost for Herons and Storks is the roof of a Seafood restaurant but that’s exactly what we found during our trip to Daytona Beach, Sept 2010. We were driving from the beach nesting area for shore birds in New Symerna back to our hotel when I happen to see a group of Herons, Egrets, and Storks all standing on the roof line of this restaurant. With a quick U-Turn we went back to inspect the area and, sure enough, there were birds all over the property. I’ve included some pictures to give you an idea of the birds there and where they were located. Here is the slide show link http://www.flickr.com/photos/quakerville/sets/72157624905449909/show/ .
