This is a shot of a wild Little Green Quaker Parrot, or Monk Parakeet just about ready to get a drink from the clean and clear Loxahatchee Preserve in Western Palm Beach County. My wife and I love to visit this area to watch the wild Parrots play with all the native birds who also live in the area.

My wife, Jo, and I have been watching and documenting wild flocks of these parrots for over 15 years. These little green birds are hearty and feed mostly on grass, berries. Bottle Brush and Melaluca and the occasional bird feeder.
